Procurement & Imports Officer

Job Summary

Green Scene Energy PLC is seeking a highly organized and experienced Procurement & Imports Officer to fully own the end-to-end import pipeline. The role involves managing the entire supply chain process—from initial supplier orders to final warehouse receipt—with a strong focus on navigating Ethiopian customs, logistics, and international supplier coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Place international orders, conduct rigorous follow-ups, and coordinate with freight forwarders for efficient cargo consolidation in China.
• Manage freight bookings, track shipments, optimize transit times, and handle all Single Window customs declarations.
• Oversee the safe transport and final receipt of goods into the company's warehouse.
• Procure specialized materials for solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects and ensure a steady flow of raw materials for the TOLO manufacturing line.
• Maintain strong relationships with international and local suppliers while negotiating favorable shipping rates to minimize demurrage or storage fees.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on import documentation and logistics experience in Ethiopia.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Deep operational knowledge of the Ethiopian Single Window system and expert-level mastery of L/C, CAD, commercial invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading.
• Prior experience importing electronic components, solar equipment, or manufacturing raw materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills to navigate bottlenecks, bilingual communication in English and Amharic, and high attention to detail.
