PLANT MANAGER

Job Summary

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the electric vehicle assembly plant, ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of 2-wheel and 3-wheel electric vehicles.

A 2 and 3-wheeler vehicle assembly plant manager  directs all daily manufacturing operations, safety protocols, and quality control standards at a light-vehicle production facility. This leader oversees staff management, production schedules, supply chain coordination, and equipment maintenance to hit output goals efficiently and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and control overall plant operations.

Develop and implement annual and monthly production plans.

Manage assembly operations for 2-wheel and 3-wheel electric vehicles.

Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved.

Supervise production, technical, maintenance, warehouse, and quality activities.

Develop and implement production SOPs, work instructions, and process controls.

Monitor production efficiency, productivity, material utilization, and labor performance.

Establish and monitor plant KPIs.

Ensure proper handling and installation of batteries, motors, controllers, chargers, wiring harnesses, and other EV components.

Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of CKD/SKD components and spare parts.

Control production costs, waste, rework, and material losses.

Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Lead troubleshooting of production and technical problems.

Train, coach, and develop plant personnel.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and management reports.

Coordinate with suppliers, customers, government authorities, and other stakeholders when required.

Drive continuous improvement, Kaizen, 5S/6S, and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications & Experience

BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, industrial engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Experience  5to 8 years working in a manufacturing plant, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Relevant industrial/manufacturing experience,

Experience in automotive, electric vehicle, vehicle assembly, machinery, or manufacturing plants is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of production planning, maintenance, quality management, and plant operations.

Knowledge of EV systems is an advantage.

Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-management skills.

Technical Knowledge:  Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and vehicle assembly processes.

Problem-Solving:  Quick thinking to fix machine breakdowns or labor shortages on the floor.
