The Inventory & Replenishment Controller converts the rolling demand plan into replenishment triggers and acts as an independent control gate to protect working capital from being tied up in slow-moving stock. Operating directly under the Operations & Import Director, the role evaluates and tests every purchase order against sales velocity, stock cover, and unmet demand before approval, while managing reorder points, safety stocks, and dead-stock clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Set and maintain reorder points, safety stock levels, and target months of cover for every active SKU by warehouse.
- Monitor daily stock cover on A-class items, raising replenishment triggers and stock-out alerts proactively.
- Operate the purchase-order gate by evaluating orders against 12-month sales velocity, current stock cover, and projected arrival cover—recommending approval, reduction, or rejection with written reasons.
- Maintain the dead and at-risk stock register, report monthly movements, and enforce replenishment freezes on flagged SKUs.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to clear and dispose of dead stock while tracking recovered cash.
- Reconcile physical and system stock across warehouses, investigate discrepancies, and track working capital tied up in inventory.
- Educational Background: First degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse management, preferably across multiple locations. Hands-on experience with an ERP inventory module is required.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and a solid understanding of carrying costs, working capital, and stock-holding costs.
- Firmness under commercial pressure, with the ability to remain effective while saying "no" to unsupported purchase requests.
- High attention to detail and disciplined record-keeping.
- Fluent in English and Amharic.
- Core skills in planning, communication, and leadership.
