The HR Administrative Officer supports the human resources department by managing daily administrative and clerical tasks, executing HR policies, and independently overseeing employee records, attendance, recruitment logistics, and payroll support. Operating at the Bishoftu facility, the role ensures smooth operational workflows and fosters a compliant, positive work environment for a leading animal nutrition manufacturing enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Records & Documentation: Maintain confidential personnel files, draft employment contracts, certificates, and official HR correspondence.
- Attendance & Leave Administration: Track daily attendance, lateness, absenteeism, overtime, and leave balances while addressing irregularities with department heads.
- HR System Administration: Update and manage the HR Management System (HRMS), ensure data integrity, and generate routine reporting metrics.
- Recruitment & Onboarding Support: Schedule interviews, coordinate candidate communications, prepare onboarding documentation, and conduct induction programs.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Compile accurate attendance, overtime, and leave inputs for payroll processing while assisting with medical benefits, pensions, allowances, and loans.
- Employee Relations & Separation: Address routine employee inquiries, assist with grievance and disciplinary documentation, and manage complete exit and clearance procedures.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all administrative practices adhere strictly to company policies and Ethiopian labor laws, preparing regular headcount, turnover, and attendance indicators for management.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in human resources, preferably within manufacturing companies or industrial settings.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in speaking and writing Oromifa is highly desirable.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of modern HR practices, administrative workflows, and Ethiopian labor regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HR management software.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of discretion for confidential matters.
