Disability Inclusion Officer

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring disability inclusion and youth support services at the woreda level under the "Biqu Wotat Program" initiative. The role serves as a key link among ECDD, ADA, woreda government offices, one-stop centers, schools, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), health and rehabilitation providers, communities, families, and youth with disabilities (YWDs) aged 15–29.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day implementation of Biqu Wotat project activities, develop woreda activity plans, and maintain collaborative partnerships with ADA and relevant woreda government sectors.
• Plan and coordinate community-level identification, screening, verification, and clinical/functional assessments of YWDs (ensuring women with disabilities constitute at least 80% of beneficiaries), and facilitate referrals to education, healthcare, rehabilitation, and assistive technology services.
• Support out-of-school YWDs with secondary education re-entry, coordinate school accessibility audits and upgrades, and monitor the utilization of Inclusive Education Resource Center (IERC) resources.
• Provide regular technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and supervision to Disability-Inclusive Community Promoters (DICPs).
• Monitor project implementation against targets, manage data integrity, and prepare timely monthly and quarterly progress reports.
• Represent ECDD in woreda stakeholder forums, ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, accountability, and "Do No Harm" principles, and coordinate operational and financial activities.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive/Special Needs Education, Social Work, Education, Public Health, Development Studies, Project Management, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in disability inclusion, inclusive education, rehabilitation, community development, and/or related fields. Experience in woreda-level project implementation is highly desirable.
