Clinical Nurse

Job Summary

Responsible for providing safe, quality, and client-centered nursing and basic clinical care to project beneficiaries in accordance with national clinical guidelines, Ministry of Health standards, professional nursing ethics, ASDEPO policies, and project requirements. The role contributes to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and follow-up of common health conditions while promoting health education and disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate implementation of mobile health and nutrition activities, site selection, and preparation of weekly movement plans.
• Provide basic health and nutrition services including community IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency services, referrals, health education, and EPI as per MOH Mobile Health and Nutrition guidelines.
• Facilitate essential drugs, supplies, and therapeutic products for the team and selected health facilities.
• Organize daily, weekly, and monthly overviews and reports of OTP, EPI, health education, and consultations.
• Ensure proper referral systems and linkages between services and health facilities.
• Adhere strictly to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children and infants.
• Provide onsite training, mentoring, and assistance to Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and nurses, particularly in identifying patients at severe risk.
• Ensure job aids, tally sheets, report formats, and stock control forms are available and properly utilized in health posts.
• Participate in capacity-building training, health education sessions, and ENA/BCC application.
• Follow up on absentees/defaulters and keep current records of beneficiaries and staff (CHAs, volunteers).
• Uphold ASDEPO’s safeguarding and protection standards (child safeguarding, PSEA, accountability, and "do no harm").
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager and the organization.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Public Health.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in maternal, child health, and nutrition services within a health center or hospital setting (experience in CMAM programs, mobile health/nutrition, and working with NGOs is an advantage).

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge, training, and experience in the management of CMAM, SAM management, IMNCI/ICCM, case management of childhood and adult illness, and safe motherhood.
• Required Skill Tags: Communication, clinical nursing care, maternal and child health, community IMNCI/ICCM, and emergency response coordination.
• Desired Skill Tags: Emergency nutrition/IDP context knowledge, proficiency in local languages, program monitoring, and computer literacy (Microsoft skills).
