Business Development Officer

Job Summary

Niyat is seeking a Business Development Officer to own the top of the commercial funnel. The role is responsible for generating and qualifying demand, scouting tenders and external opportunities, and managing website lead-capture channels to supply a steady, qualified pipeline to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Generation & Qualification: Generate and qualify inbound and outbound leads, execute outreach campaigns, and seamlessly hand off qualified prospects to sales representatives.
• Tender Scouting & Briefing: Monitor tender portals and external sources, identify opportunities worth bidding on, and brief the tender and sales teams accordingly.
• Partnership & Market Research: Identify external projects, partnerships, and consortia for participation while researching target accounts and sectors.
• Website & Channel Management: Own the corporate website for enquiries, forms, content updates, and lead capture, ensuring accurate routing.
• Pipeline Tracking & Reporting: Track lead sources and conversion rates, report pipeline coverage, and coordinate closely with Revenue Operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, lead generation, or bid and tender coordination.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Ethiopian tender landscapes, CRM systems, web lead tools, basic web content management, and digital marketing lead-generation tools.
• Core Skill Tags: Research & analytical skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Amharic).
