Smart Farm Production & R&D Manager

Job Summary

EcoGreen is seeking a Smart Farm Production & R&D Manager to lead the establishment and operation of a high-value, commercial smart farm within its factory compound. The role serves as a commercial production hub, R&D testing ground, and agricultural demonstration model designed to maximize profit per square meter, validate EcoGreen's soil-health technologies, and educate agricultural stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Value Crop Production: Identify, test, and cultivate high-margin specialty crops (such as herbs, medicinal plants, berries, and microgreens), optimizing yield, quality, and revenue per square meter using advanced protected cultivation and fertigation.
• Smart Farm Operations: Manage daily farm systems (irrigation, nutrition, crop protection, climate control), introduce practical environmental sensors, establish rigorous standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain strict traceability.
• Commercial & Economic Management: Track crop-level profitability, unit costs, labor, and gross/net margins, ensuring production is strictly aligned with validated market demand from premium buyers (hotels, restaurants, supermarkets).
• R&D & Product Validation: Design and execute scientifically structured field trials to evaluate EcoGreen's fertilizers and technologies, comparing control and treatment plots to generate credible data supporting commercial claims.
• Demonstration & Knowledge Transfer: Transform the facility into a best-practice model learning center, welcoming farmers, investors, and professionals to observe sustainable production methods, smart-farming technologies, and successful agronomic practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in high-value crop production (including herbs and medicinal plants), intensive crop management, crop nutrition, and economic costing. Experience in greenhouse/protected agriculture, hydroponics, or R&D trial design is highly desirable.
