Senior Reporter

Job Summary

This long-term, remote freelance role is open exclusively to local African professionals with a deep understanding of regional political ecologies, policy systems, and public affairs. The incumbent will independently conduct on-site news collection, policy interpretation, current affairs analysis, and source verification to deliver authoritative local intelligence and original reports for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and interpret local government policy releases, administrative announcements, and regulatory trends in real time.
• Attend local public events, official seminars, and industry conferences to perform on-site interviews, reporting, and multimedia collection.
• Leverage personal official networks to verify regional news, policy updates, and industry rumors to ensure absolute accuracy and authenticity.
• Author in-depth perspective articles and regional situation analyses examining current affairs, policy impacts, and social dynamics.
• Maintain stable, collaborative relationships with government departments, official institutions, and industry leaders to expand information sources.
• Deliver assigned reporting and analysis tasks on time while maintaining strict journalistic ethics and client confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education & Background: Mandatory background advantage with formal work experience, internships, or long-term stable relations with African government departments, public institutions, official media, regulatory agencies, or industry associations (retired public sector or official media backgrounds are highly preferred).
• Experience: Proven freelance journalism, news reporting, or high-level policy analysis experience with published works or official reporting portfolios.
