Senior Accountant

Medrafa IT Solution PLC is seeking a qualified Accountant to support the Finance Department and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial management. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will handle day-to-day accounting operations, including financial recording, reporting, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, tax compliance, payroll, and fixed asset management.

• Financial Recording & Reporting: Record and maintain accurate transactions in the accounting system, prepare monthly reports, assist with financial statements, and manage general ledger accounts.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, manage payment requests, monitor customer receivables, prepare payment vouchers, and reconcile accounts.
• Cash & Bank Management: Record daily cash receipts and payments, prepare bank reconciliations, monitor discrepancies, and assist with cash-flow reporting.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure proper calculation, recording, and filing of VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other statutory returns.
• Payroll & Fixed Assets: Support payroll preparation and pension contributions; maintain accurate fixed asset and inventory records, tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Audit & Internal Controls: Prepare documents for internal and external audits, enforce internal control procedures, and ensure compliance with financial policies.

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Ethiopian tax laws.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong expertise in bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll accounting.
