Safety Health And Environmental Manager

Job Summary

The Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Manager - Commerce champions and promotes occupational safety, health, and environmental awareness across Heineken Ethiopia's commercial functions. The role monitors safety compliance, conducts risk assessments and training, oversees fleet telematics and road safety, and manages SHE standards across sales regions, company-owned warehouses, distributor outlets, and corporate events.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Culture & Awareness: Cultivate a proactive safety culture through campaigns, orientations, safety briefings, and staff accreditations.
• Safety Training & Adherence: Design and deliver comprehensive safety training for commerce employees and contractors, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies.
• Road Safety & Telematics: Oversee the road safety program and policy, monitor weekly driver telematics reports, and implement journey management plans in coordination with the fleet and sales teams.
• Incident Management & Investigations: Conduct thorough incident investigations, identify root causes, implement remedial measures, and promptly report safety events on designated platforms.
• Injury & PPE Management: Minimize lost time due to injuries and coordinate the administration of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across sales regions and warehouses.
• Warehouse & Event Safety: Enforce warehouse safety standards (including 5S and Good Housekeeping) and collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure safe event execution.
• Contractor Safety & Risk Assessment: Implement Heineken's Contractor Safety Management program and conduct detailed risk assessments with preventive and recovery barriers.
• Reporting & Compliance: Deliver bi-weekly and monthly safety reports, trend analyses, and ensure full compliance with Ethiopian H&E legislation and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience as an SHE Manager, Specialist, or Coordinator within a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills: OHSAS 18001 management systems, Ethiopian H&E legislation, telematics and journey management, risk assessment, incident investigation, PPE administration, and MS Office proficiency.
