Psychologist / Psychosocial Support Officer

Job Summary

The Psychologist / Psychosocial Support Officer contributes to the implementation of the Second Life project's psychosocial support and inclusion activities for vulnerable students and beneficiaries. Operating in Addis Ababa, the role involves conducting psychosocial assessments, applying the DREAM approach, managing referral pathways, and supporting student retention in coordination with TVET institutions and project partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and identify beneficiaries' needs, vulnerabilities, and protection concerns.
• Provide individual psychosocial support, guidance, and individualized life plans to beneficiaries.
• Apply the DREAM (Developing Resilience and Empowering Adaptive Minds) psychosocial methodology.
• Coordinate with tutors and social workers for case management, timely referrals, and integrated socioeconomic accompaniment.
• Maintain confidential case documentation in line with CIFA safeguarding principles.
• Support inclusive learning environments and early identification of risks for disengagement and drop-out in TVET institutions.
• Collect and analyze psychosocial data, vulnerability indices, and contribute to periodic project reporting.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology, or a related field (a Master's degree is considered an asset).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in psychosocial support, counselling, or case management, preferably within NGOs or development/TVET projects.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, professional ethics, and safe referral pathways.
• Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in English and Amharic.
