Job title: Junior Cost Controller (Entry Level Accountant)

Reports to: Head of Finance

Duty station: Addis Ababa

Employment term: Full time

Main responsibilities:

Tracking, analyzing and controlling the costs associated with all departments and projects within the company.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide assessment on budgets and cost projections
• Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
• Input items, services and prices into ERP system
• Accounting for daily transfer requests for proper cost allocation while maintaining accurate inventory reconciliation
• Stock taking of various stores during month end as well as random spot checks
• Work closely with storekeepers to ensure that all goods issued and received are properly recorded and updated
• Conduct spot checks on receiving items, verifying invoice items and quantities against actual items and quantities received
• Control and monitor company expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all expenditures are captured and properly recorded
• Collaborate with department heads to strategize ways to minimize waste
• Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures 
• Remain aware of market trends that could impact resource costs
