Job Summary
The Human Resource Officer oversees all human resource functions at Daye Transport, with a specialized focus on recruiting, managing, and retaining drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and administrative staff. Operating within a dynamic transport and logistics environment, the role ensures workforce compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and transport regulations, handles employee relations, and supports operational excellence in support of Ethiopia's domestic trade and coffee export sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes for drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and administrative personnel.
- Documentation & Compliance: Manage comprehensive driver documentation, commercial license verification, and secure employee records in alignment with transport sector regulations and labor laws.
- Employee Relations & Discipline: Handle employee grievances, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, warning letters, and termination processes.
- Training Coordination: Coordinate targeted training programs focusing on road safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service standards.
- Administration & Reporting: Administer payroll inputs, leave management, and employee benefits while preparing regular HR reports on turnover, attendance, and training performance.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant HR professional experience, preferably within the transport, logistics, or service industries (experience managing operational staff and commercial drivers is strongly preferred).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and human resource best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and HR management systems.
