Finance Section Head

Job Summary

The Finance Section Head manages general accounts, cost accounts, and financial operations for the client's Real Estate and Transport business lines. Operating under a permanent recruitment mandate via Ethio Impact Consulting, the role develops financial strategies, oversees month-end and year-end closing processes, ensures strict compliance with IFRS and local tax laws, and implements robust internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance and accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements compliant with IFRS and local regulations.
• Manage the General Ledger, general accounts, and specialized cost accounts for real estate and transport operations.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, develop rolling forecasts, and perform detailed variance analyses to drive cost-saving and profitability initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian Ministry of Revenues (MoR) regulations, including timely tax filings (VAT, withholding, payroll, corporate income tax).
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial regulatory bodies.
• Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal financial policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
• Experience: 6 to 8 years of progressive, hands-on finance experience, including at least 3 to 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role specifically within manufacturing, agro-processing, real estate, or construction sectors.
