Finance Manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on production cost accounting, inventory control, budgeting, cash flow management, tax compliance, and strategic financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting: Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), manage the General Ledger, AP/AR, and ensure accurate record-keeping in line with accounting standards.
• Manufacturing Cost Accounting: Calculate production costs, analyze raw material, direct labor, and factory overhead variances, monitor cost per unit, and track Cost of Goods Manufactured/Sold.
• Inventory & Production Finance: Monitor raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; ensure accurate inventory valuation; and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to prevent discrepancies and wastage.
• Budgeting & Cash Management: Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash-flow projections; perform bank reconciliations; and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
• Taxation & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, Withholding, Payroll, Income Tax) and manage timely statutory declarations.
• Fixed Asset & Internal Control: Maintain the fixed asset register, manage depreciation, enforce robust internal financial controls, and prevent irregularities.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Management (Master's degree or professional certifications like ACCA/CPA are an added advantage).
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of total professional experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a Finance Manager or senior leadership role mandatory.
• Industry Requirement: Proven practical experience in the manufacturing industry (factory/production setting) is strictly required.
