Driver Mechanic

The Driver / Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for organizational use. Beyond operating vehicles in compliance with safety regulations, the role performs minor mechanical maintenance, routine servicing, daily vehicle inspections, and maintains accurate travel logs, fuel consumption records, and maintenance reports.

• Transportation Service: Deliver a full range of safe and reliable transport services to support organizational operations and customer satisfaction.

• Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs: Perform minor mechanical servicing according to established preventive maintenance schedules—including changing oil and filters, rotating tires, greasing parts, topping up fluids, and replacing bulbs.

• Fleet Inspections & Safety: Regularly inspect vehicle conditions, systems, accessories, and safety tool kits, reporting mechanical issues promptly to supervisors.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date logbooks, fuel consumption records, maintenance logs, and monthly vehicle usage reports.

• Upkeep & Cleanliness: Keep vehicles (buses, vans, cars) clean, fueled, secure, and ready for deployment at all times.

• Educational Background: 12th grade completed, 10+2, or TVET Diploma.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related professional driving and basic maintenance experience.

• Licensing Requirement: Must hold a valid 3rd Grade Driving License (or higher).

• Technical Skills: Driving proficiency, skill in routine vehicle maintenance, minor repairs, and the ability to carry out unsupervised tasks.

• Language Proficiency: Fluent in speaking and writing both Amharic and English.
