Job Summary
The Branch Manager holds overall responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction, and commercial performance of newly opening branches across Oromia and Southern Ethiopia. Operating within a merchandise retail and commercial environment, the role drives revenue growth, oversees daily sales and inventory operations, ensures financial and regulatory compliance, and represents the company before regional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Performance: Develop annual business plans, manage operating budgets, monitor performance targets, and drive profitability, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Monitor merchandise stock levels, coordinate timely replenishment requests, minimize stock shortages or overstocking, and collaborate with logistics teams on delivery schedules.
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, coach, and evaluate branch sales staff, cashiers, and store attendants to ensure high operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Financial & Administrative Control: Ensure accurate cash handling, daily reconciliations, adherence to accounting procedures, and proper documentation of sales transactions and stock movements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance: Represent the company in regional government engagements and public relations while ensuring strict compliance with company policies and Ethiopian business and tax regulations.
Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years serving in a Branch Manager capacity within a merchandise business or retail organization.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Amharic and English is required; knowledge of Afaan Oromoo is a strong advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of finance, budgeting, sales, inventory management, and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, MS Office, and POS/inventory systems.
