Dodai is a fast-growing organization with a mission of making urban e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two-wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2025. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals.Purpose of the Position
The assembly technician for Dodai will be part of the manufacturing team and will be responsible for the assembly of electric two-wheelers (E2W) in an efficient manner. S/he will be responsible for leading the construction of the small parts and components that make up the E2W to create a new product according to the specifications provided by the factory operations manager. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions.
- Perform high-precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
- Develop assembly and test procedures to promote production of quality products.
- Monitor the functioning of all equipment and report any problems or substandard conditions to the supervisor.
- Ensure all assigned assembly documentations are maintained according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required.
- Comply with all EHS requirements, wear appropriate PPE, report unsafe conditions, and participate in emergency response activities when required.
- Maintain 5S standards by keeping the workstation clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift.
- Coach, train, and provide technical guidance to junior assembly technicians to improve skill development and standard work compliance.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
- Properly use, inspect, and maintain assigned tools and equipment, reporting any damage, calibration issues, or shortages.
- Collaborate effectively with Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Hardware teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Perform other tasks as directed by your supervisor.
